SPELLING BEE FINALISTS RECOGNIZED

Finalists in the Wesley Spelling Bee were announced on Thursday, December 17.  Students in grades 2-8 took a written test in their rooms the previous week.  The Lower School class with the highest average on their test was Mrs. De La Torre’s second grade class; the Middle School class with the highest average was Mrs. Diven’s eighth grade class.  Students in these classes received ribbons and a class certificate and will have a celebration party after the holidays.

Top spellers in each class were also announced.  These students will compete in the Lower School Oral Spelling Bee or the Middle School Oral Spelling Bee, to be held Tuesday, February 23. Receiving spelling team certificates were:

Second Grade: Chidubem Anekwuonye, Max Austin, Celine Le

Third Grade:  Alia Jones, Michael Minnich, Savanna Underwood

Fourth Grade:  Rebekah Miller, Emmanuel Anekwuonye, Elizabeth Pickett

Fifth Grade:  Louis Hathon, Isabella Neblett, Alex Staten

Sixth Grade:  Autumn Caraway, Matthew Deskin, Alexander Faure, Tre’ Rice

Seven-A Class:  Carolyn Grantham, Kyle Phillips, Trey Petrie, Haley Young

Seven-B Class:  Stephen Clines, Cassie Mckee, Karthik Thiagarajan, Maxine Tran

Eighth Grade:  Dalton Cramer, Imani Daffin, Stone Larkin, Jordan Pugh
