MIDDLE SCHOOL

Donna Brewer - Joined Wesley in 2000 and has over 20 years of classroom experience.  Mrs. Brewer teaches Grade 5 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education with certification in Grades 1-8.

Joanne Crowell - Joined Wesley in 2003 and has over 37 years of teaching and administrative experience.  Ms. Crowell currently teaches Middle School math and science and holds A BS in Education and M.Ed. in Education Administration.  Ms. Crowell has certifications in Math, PE, Health, Biology, Life Sciences, and Mid-Management.  She also works with the Academic Quest team and Duke’s Talent Identification Program. 

Karen Diven - Middle School Language Arts teacher with over 10 years of classroom experience.  Karen has been at Wesley Academy since 2003.  Ms. Diven earned a BS in Human Development from The University of Houston and MS in Human Resources Management from Houston Baptist University.  She is certified to teach Grades 1-6 in English and Reading for Grades 4-8.

Linda Gardner - Teaches Language Arts and History in the Middle School.  She began at Wesley in 2003 and has over 20 years of teaching experience.  Ms. Gardner holds a BS in Education and is certified in Grades 1-8.  She is also the faculty sponsor of the National Junior Honor Society.

Rhonda Hatcher - Has taught Elementary and Middle School off and on since graduating from Baylor University in 1988 where she earned a BS in Education with minors in English/Art.  She joined Wesley in 2008 and has over 12 years of classroom experience.  Her certifications include English, ESL, Gifted and Talented in Grades 1-8.

Carolina Ruiz - Joined the Wesley teaching staff in 2005 and teaches all levels of Spanish.  Ms. Ruiz has over 20 years of classroom experience.  She received the degree of Instructor of Primary Grades in Guatemala and is also certified in English as a Second Language.  Ms. Ruiz is the faculty sponsor of the Student Council.

Connie Wright - Joined Wesley Academy is 2000 and teaches Physical Education and coaches volleyball, basketball, and track and field.  Ms. Wright holds a BS in Education, Health/PE and Biology.  She has over 20 years of teaching and coaching experience with certifications in PE/Health and Biology.

Brian Coats - Joined Wesley Academy in 2008 and teaches Bible in Grades 6-8.  He also coordinates weekly chapel for Grades 1-8 and coaches the tennis team.  Brian holds a BA in History and Journalism, and a Masters in Divinity.  Brian has over 15 years of youth ministry experience.
